There are 237.5 acres of park, playground and recreation land, and 32.6 acres of Cobb’s Creek Park owned by the City of Philadelphia. Haverford, Pennsylvania, is an idyllic enclave in Philadelphia’s Main Line area that stretches across Lower Merion and Haverford Townships.

Haverford has no shortage of dining options. Plenty of Asian and other ethnic treats await you, including the French-Asian fusion fare at Nais Cuisine and tasty sushi and noodle bowls at Harusame. A light lunch at Sweetgreen will keep you fueled up for an afternoon of shopping on Lancaster Avenue, unless the tempting aroma of cheesesteak from Primo Hoagies brings you through their door instead. History buffs will find plenty of local treasures, including historic mansions, churches and schools. Golfers have nearly a dozen courses to choose from within a few minutes’ drive from Haverford.

Parks and Recreation in Haverford
Both Haverford Township and Lower Merion Township have a variety of activities and events put on by their Parks and Recreation departments. From sports fields and playgrounds to unspoiled nature along the area’s miles of hiking and biking trails, there’s sure to be a park in or around Haverford for everyone.

Does Fido need space to spread out with four-legged pals? Haverford Reserve Dog Park has separate areas for large and small dogs, natural shade, and seating for their human companions. Mostly maintained by local dog owners, the park is fully fenced and even has a covered pavilion shelter to keep the rain at bay.
